The 2026 Giving Challenge presented by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County is April 15th to 16th from noon to noon. All donations of $25 to $100 made through the Giving Challenge website to our shelter will be matched by The Patterson Foundation!

The Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch is partnering with The Friends of LWR Library for the 2026 Giving Challenge! Help HSLWR raise funds to save homeless animals and start happy beginnings and help Friends raise funds for early learning computers for children.

3 Ways You Can Participate to Have Your Donation Matched:

• Email givingchallenge@hslwr.org to pledge your donation ahead of time for us to enter

• Go to the HSLWR Giving Challenge Page April 15th-16th from noon to noon to donate

• Visit Pop Up Adoption Event at DOG Perfect in Parrish

Events:

• "Read" to a Rescue: April 11th from 10-11am join HSLWR at the Lakewood Ranch Library, as we educate children and families on pet care. Kids can read to kittens, decorate adoption bags for new pet parents and enjoy a fun photo backdrop. Register here: Read to a Rescue

• Tales and Tails: April 15th from 4:30-5:30pm join the Friends of the LWR Library and HSLWR for the 2026 Giving Challenge kickoff at the library. This family story time focuses on pets.

• Pop Up Adoption Event and Donation Station: April 16th from 9am-12pm HSLWR will be at DOG Perfect in Parrish with adoptable dogs as well as a donation station to come by and make your donation in person.
