Meet Atticus, the dapper 3 year old male German Shepherd mix seeking his forever home! Atticus here is the most charming pup ever and once you meet him, you'll see just how. He is not only extremely handsome but has a heart of gold. His energy is contagious- whether he's chasing after a squirrel or bounding through the yard, his enthuasiasm knows no bounds. Atticus is very intelligent and quick to learn, so if you're wanting a dog to train with, he's your perfect match! He also has a special knack for sensing when someone needs a little extra comfort. Atticus is the definition of "loyal" and is always by your side, making sure you receive endless amounts of cuddles. What gets better than that? A true companion, Atticus thrives on companionship, and his lively nature makes him the perfect friend for all ages! Atticus struggles a little with reactivity, however with time, patience, and reinforcement, he will be on a path to learning how to manage his reactions in different situations. He would prefer to adopt a family who has experience with large dogs and who will continue his training that he needs in order to thrive in a new environment. Atticus is selective with his canine friends. He has not yet been formally introduced to cats or children. In terms of potty training, Atticus is currently in a shelter environment where it's hard for staff to guarantee that he is fully house-trained. We tell everyone to treat your new shelter pup like a puppy when you bring them home to ensure that they learn your routine when it comes to a potty schedule.
