Since you're reading this, you're obviously looking for a new best friend- and hey, so am I! My name is Bessie and I am a gorgeous 54 pound 4 year old female Terrier mix that has been looking for my forever home for over a year now. The shelter staff and volunteers don't know why I have been here so long as they call me a "good girl" all the time! I have the cutest ears that naturally stick up in the most perfect way and golden eyes that match my stunning fawn colored coat. My humans here at the shelter say I'm a social butterfly when it comes to meeting new people and I'm also what you may call a "party animal." I absolutely love to play with my toys, however I've noticed that I only get very durable/hard toys in my kennel because I enjoy the taste of rubber and also love to make it snow. Since I am an active dog that loves to run, I would prefer to be in a home that has plenty of space, and hopefully one with a yard so I can have the time of my life. After I'm tired out from exercising I love to relax in the sun or on my bed, sometimes chewing on a nylabone. I'm hoping I can soon upgrade to relaxing on a couch next to my human while watching movies and eating snacks. I would prefer to be the only apple of your eye when it comes to other animals in the household, however I am amazing at ignoring other dogs while on walks. The staff believes some of my dog issues could be shelter related and think with the help from a trainer, I could possibly interact with other dogs once I'm all settled in my new home. Some of the amazing volunteers here love to take me on walking trails away from the shelter and every time I come back they talk all about how wonderful I did! One time I even saw a horse while walking and didn't pull on the leash or make a peep! My favorite hobbies include hunting lizards, playing with hose water, and sword fighting. Being a volunteer favorite has made me a bit confident and I'm hoping that confidence will soon get me into my new forever home! I'm stunning, goofy, loving, playful, and brilliant, which makes me just the dog you need in your life! Am I the one you're looking for? My adoption fee is $150.
